Changing the way lithium batteries are transported

The demand for lithium batteries is constantly increasing given the transaction towards sustainable mobility.

In light of the growing market demand, have steps been taken to ensure the safe transport of batteries around the world?

The UN Orange Book was the answer to this need. The Orange Book contains all recommendations on the transport of dangerous goods. The "UN 38.3 Certification" has been developed, it is a mandatory certification to safely transport batteries by air, land or sea, both nationally and internationally. From here we also get the "UN38.3 test" that certifies the suitability of batteries to any type of transport, because it states that the batteries have passed all the tests that catalog them as safe to a journey.

During the extensive checks, in case of irregularities, the batteries are stopped on site directly by the freight forwarder until the completion of the tests and the mandatory related documents. Of course, if the cargo is stopped, it is subject to very severe sanctions as well as criminal measures prescribed by national and international regulations.
